Every Lesson Outstanding Programme
Every Lesson Outstanding Programme (ELO)
Facilitated by the North East Schools Teaching Alliance (NESTA), based at Nunthorpe Academy.
What is the ELO Programme?
The North East Teaching Schools Partnership has worked collaboratively to design and facilitate the ELO Programme.
The programme is enjoyable, intensive and interactive; it facilitates staff development which promotes the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver quality first teaching every day.
Who is the ELO Programme for?
ELO is a versatile programme suitable for all teachers, Primary or Secondary phase, regardless of experience, who have the desire and commitment to reflect upon their current practise and consider how this can be further improved to enhance performance and raise standards.
The programme will enable participants to:
- Reflect on and discuss the key elements of quality first teaching
- Understand the impact of quality first teaching on student progress
- Embed these essential skills and knowledge so that they can consistently deliver high quality lessons
- Enhance classroom and pupil performance
Mentoring and Support
During the programme, participants will require an in-school mentor, appointed by their school. This should be someone who is considered to have expertise in teaching and learning.
They are required to provide support for participating teachers and monitor their progress as they implement changes to their teaching pedagogy.
